Privacy policy
The short version: we cannot see your support sessions, we record nothing of what happens in them, and we keep only the connection records the law and security require.
Effective 9 October 2026
1. Who we are
AcrossView is operated by Amit Goyal, Faridabad, Haryana, India ("we", "us"). For the personal data described here we are the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This policy covers acrossview.com, the AcrossView pages for sharing, connecting and meeting, and the AcrossView app for Windows.
2. What we never see
- The content of a support session. The screen, sound, voice, camera and chat are end-to-end encrypted with keys created on the two devices for that session. They pass through our servers in a form we cannot read.
- Recordings. We do not record support sessions or meetings, and we do not store chat.
Meetings are encrypted between each browser and our servers, which pass the audio and video on to the other participants without storing them.
3. What we collect
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Device registration: the AcrossView ID, the device's public key, its name (for example the Windows computer name), its platform, and when it was first and last seen | To give your device a stable ID and let others connect to it | While the device uses AcrossView; deleted on request |
| Connection records: IP addresses, device IDs, the access-key holder who connected, when a session was requested, accepted and ended, and how much data our relay carried | To run the service, prevent abuse, investigate scams, and meet the CERT-In Directions of 28 April 2022 | 180 days |
| Names you type in a session or meeting | To show the other people who you are | Not stored after the session, except where they appear in connection records |
| Messages you send through the contact form: name, email, topic and message | To reply to you | As long as needed to deal with your message |
| Website server logs: IP address, page, time and browser | Security and keeping the site running | 14 days |
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The AcrossView pages and app remember a few things on your own device, such as your name, your access key and recent IDs, so you do not have to type them again. They stay on your device, and are sent only when you use them to connect.
4. Why we may process it
We process personal data with your consent, given when you use AcrossView, and for the legitimate uses the Act permits, including complying with the law and responding to legal requests. You can withdraw consent at any time by stopping use and asking us to delete your data; this does not affect processing already done, or records we must keep by law.
5. Who we share it with
- Hosting: our servers are rented from Hostinger International Ltd. and run in Mumbai, India.
- Email: contact-form messages are delivered to us by email through Hostinger's mail service.
- Authorities: when Indian law requires it, for example a valid request from law enforcement or CERT-In, and to report fraud.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, nominate someone to exercise these rights for you, and complain to us about how we handle it. Use the contact form and choose "Privacy request or grievance". If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Security
All connections use TLS, support sessions are end-to-end encrypted, and access to our servers is restricted. See Security for the details.
8. Children
AcrossView is not meant for children under 18 to use on their own. A parent or guardian should set it up and stay present.
9. Grievance Officer
Amit Goyal, Faridabad, Haryana, India. Contact through the contact form. We acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on this website before they take effect.
