Remote support for CA firms and Tally users

A client's Tally will not open, a GST return is stuck on the portal, the bank's net-banking page wants a certificate. The fix takes two minutes if you can see the screen and five hours if you have to travel. Here is how firms use AcrossView for it.

The quick case: see and guide

Send the client acrossview.com/share on WhatsApp. They open it, read you the 9-digit number, press Allow, and share the window with Tally or the portal. You see it on your screen, talk on the phone or in the session's chat, and tell them what to click. Nothing is installed on their side and nothing is left behind. See sharing a screen without installing.

The full case: do it yourself

For clients you support regularly, install the AcrossView Windows app on their computer once. Then:

  • They allow control, and you use their Tally with your own keyboard and mouse. Keys follow their keyboard layout, Hindi InScript included.
  • Set an unattended-access password on the computers you look after, and you can run month-end work after their office closes, with their agreement.
  • Send a TDL file, a patch or a backup with the file manager; bring a Tally data folder back the same way.
  • Keep an address book of client computers with an online dot for each.

Confidentiality

A client's books, bank pages and GST login are on that screen. AcrossView's sessions are end-to-end encrypted: the keys are made on the two computers, our servers in Mumbai pass encrypted data they cannot read, and nothing is recorded by us. The client can see everything you do and end the session at any moment. If you need a record for your own files, the client's app can record the session on their side.

What it costs

₹0 today. Without an account a session lasts 15 minutes; a free account gives 60. Paid accounts with no time limit are coming; talk to us if you need them now.

Can the client see what I do in Tally?

Yes, everything, live. That is by design: the person whose computer it is stays in charge.

Does it work with the GST portal's digital signature (DSC)?

The DSC token stays plugged into the client's computer and works as usual while you control it; you are using their computer, not copying anything to yours.

Can two of us look at the same client screen?

Not in one support session yet. For a discussion with the client, start a video meeting from AcrossView and have them share the screen there; meetings allow up to 100 people.
